Just a short note to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, especially all the wonderful folks in the Hayward community who have taken my wife and me into their hearts and made us family.
In addition to the usual hustle and bustle that accompanies Christmas, this year we are also in the midst of packing for a move to Nebraska. My project here in Wisconsin is finished and I'll be starting on a new one in Nebraska right after the first of the year. In the 30 plus years that I have been tramping around the country doing this kind of work, this is by far the hardest move I have ever had to make.
The other night, some friends presented us with a note book, signed by a lot of friends from the Wesleyan church and from our friends in recovery. After reading the thoughts and feelings of the people who have come to be family to us (and without a dry eye in the house) my wife said, "If its like this every time we move, I don't think I can do this." I told her, "I hope it's just like this every time we move." As much as it hurts, leaving friends and family behind, "I wouldn't have missed it for the world."
Merry Christmas and God Bless.
